Thirteen Authors On My Radar

It saddens me to announce that this is the end of the Thursday Thirteen. The idea apparently came about as a way to encourage blog readers and writers to visit other sites they may not know about. I had a blast dropping by some of the visitors who found their way here as well as checking out new sites.

Though TT ends, I will still be blogging. Stay tuned. I have a few ideas of how to again liven up the place. Please don’t be come a stranger.

So for my last list, I’ve decided to focus on authors I follow or have recently discovered. Amusingly enough, the list is very heavily paranormal. Not sure what that means, other than I’d better expand my tastes again. Know any good romantic suspense authors you can suggest?

1. Christine Feehan (the queen of paranormal or at least one of them )
2. Patricia Briggs (werecoyote heroine who navigates the edge of other species’ worlds)
3. Shirley Damsgaard (psychic librarian descended from witches and learning to deal with it)
4. Victoria Laurie ( a pyschic PI with a yummy FBI boyfriend)
5. Vivi Anna (want to pick up her Nocturne series debut next month)
6. Janet Evonovich (Stephanie Plum is as addictive as chocolate)
7. Jaci Burton (Sexy, fun, suspenseful)
8. Laurell K. Hamilton (Wicked, wicked paranormal)
9. Gena Showalter (Adorable, fantastical, alluring)
10.Susan Grant (Aliens that make you think of romance not Roswell)
11.Maya Banks (Hot, raunchyTexans — Yee Haw)
12.Caridad Piniero (Yummy, scumptious vamps with attitude)
13.Dee Tenorio, Maggie Nash, Kate Willoughby, Heather Rae Scott (ok, more than 13, but I’m expecting big things from these four)

So which authors are you currently reading? Who’s on your must buy list? Let us know.

Ooh, you’re going to promise us some fun? Then I’m darn glad I bookmarked you, Gabriella!

Hope you’ll come visit West of Mars more often, too. I’m cooking up a summer contest that’ll involve all us writers in the early stages, and then anyone and everyone in the latter ones. I’m not sure how it’ll shape up yet, but … come be a part of it!

    Happy Final TT. *sniff*

Wow. I’m honored to have made your final TT list. I hadn’t heard the TT was ending. Well, shoot. I’m still doing it, even if the linky thing won’t work anymore.

I finally got Richelle’s Succubus Blues tonight at Borders. I’m beyond thrilled. I also got the most recent Christopher Moore: You Suck. Love his stuff! I also picked up a Morgan Hawke Werewolf book. Never read her stuff but thought i’d give it whirl. My must haves are too freaking long to list here but include Shiloh, (waving) Lauren, Megan Hart, Pamela Briggs, etc. etc. etc. New discoveries that I’m nuts over and recently bought everything I could lay my hands on by them are: Lila Dubois, TA Chase, Isabella Snow, Roxy Harte. Ummm yeah – so they all hang out at my blog so I can drool on ‘em easier. Heh.

Oh man, Rhian, if all my favorite authors hung out at my blog I’d never get any writing done. I swear some people have all the luck. Now I know where I’ll be spending my free time.

LOL! I don’t think my blog would hold ALL my favorite authors!! But i do get a kick out of it. And i do grab people in book stores and shove them at the books by authors I’ve “met.” Well, they ARE browsing, trying to make their minds up – I’m just being helpful. Grin! Amazing how often it works. Then there’s that one person who runs away screaming.

Oh, my. I’m trying to resist the temptation to pimp all my favorites (or at least the ones you haven’t already listed).

Since you asked specifically for romantic suspense, I’ll do an easy one: newbie Shannon K. Butcher. Her first book’s No Regrets and it’s a page-turner.

I love your list. I haven’t read anything by Laurell K. Hamilton, but I keep hearing how awesome she is. I’m going to have to look her up.

    And fun is good.
