I know most of these, but I’ll let others guess. Great songs though! Now I’m singing “I’m your Venus, I’m your fire…”.
My TT is about Google & me!

Wow, I actually know most of these songs!
)
Couldn’t really say to what kind of story they would inspire me, though. Nice idea for a list anyway.

When I need to get myself pumped up I listen to Pink or Disturbed. I also have a lot of techno that works too.

Good list. Not enough guitars for my muse, but good stuff on there anyway. Really quality, stand-the-test-of-time stuff.
Happy TT!

Wow. I must be way out of touch with the pop music scene. The only one on here I know is Cher’s. I’ve heard of several of the other artists but can’t ‘hear’ the tune by just reading the title.
Based on the titles though, I’d guess your new book has elements of the paranormal with suspense and of course romance.
I have used music to romance my muse ever since a creative writing prof taught me how music can influence the mood of any piece you are working on and thus you should consciously choose the music you listen to while writing and that includes while contemplating the scenes before the words start to flow. That is the same prof I mentioned in my Monday poetry train this week. He is currently Oregon States Poet Laureate.
my tt this week is in honor of my husband’s grandmother who passed on Tuesday.

Great list! I’ll have to check some of these tunes out (the ones I don’t know off the top of my head). Thanks for sharing!

I’m going to agree with Joy and go with romantic suspense with glints of paranormal! And what a cool list of songs.
I haven’t heard “Venus” in a long time, but now it’s running through my head and making me want to dance!
Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

hmmm… you’re going to be writing something ‘other worldly’ or mystical, with mortal consequences?!
p.s thanks for your insightful comments on my TT

I like #3 too
Happy Thursday!

Great list! Mine is about music also!
Mine is up at Being An Air Force Wife

There’s a lot here I’m not familiar with, but I’ve started listing to Evanescence and I really like them!

You all rock! I’m so impressed. Joy, Thomma Lyn and Karen are very close to be almost on target.
Very definitely romantic suspense with paranormal elements and of course there are mortal consequences!
Joy, you sound like you had a real cool professor. Isn’t it great when a teacher influences you in some profound way.
Thanks everyone for stopping by and do check out the tunes!

I can’t listen to “Turn Back Time” without singing out loud doing my best Cher imitation. Fortunately I only hear the song at home or in the car. I’m sure it would really embarrass my children if it came on at the grocery store or the mall…but then again, that would just be a bonus!

There are 2 artists that I only knew of here. Madonna and Cher!

OMG! Last night I downloaded Backstreet Boy’s “Larger than Life” ‘coz I could get the tune out of my head. I have “La Tortura” and “Turn Back Time” too downloaded into my ‘puter so I can enjoy them while I work at home.

That sounds like a dance party. Can I join? (I’ll just boogey along quietly here at work.)
I always use music to write. I need my soundtrack running.

Great list, I love Tortura by Shakira.

I always watch movies to get into the mood, or old sitcoms. Music is for when I clean, lol.

Great list!!

Great list! My guess would be a romantic thriller! Either way this music is certainly a good choice for inspiration!

I tried to check out the Rhianna song but couldn’t find it on itunes. Like books, I always enjoy reading other’s favorites lists of music for ideas.
So how do you sit still listening to such an upbeat mix? I would be up dancing.
Comment
I only recognize a couple of those songs, but I cannot listen to music while I writing–even just blogging. I’ve tried, and I get too caught up in the music and forget all about whatever it was I was going to write.

Great choices!!

Hmmm… I know pretty much all of these songs, but I’m not sure what they would inspire me to write.
I do listen to a lot of Pink’s music while I run.
Thanks for visiting my list!

Oh man I only know five of these songs. I love Shakira and Evanescence. Btw your book sounds really good. Can’t wait for it to be released.
Comment
Cool list. I’ve got some of the performers on my playlist when I write, if not those particular songs.
