My best gal pal had these pretty nails done before she left to visit her family in the US. It took three hours to get these flowers designed on each nail. They’re stunning and make you look twice at the workmanship. But would I spend three hours doing this? No way. I’m into comfort. Not beauty. LOL! My oldest son could easily spend three hours playing a video game. I would fry brain circuits after fifteen minutes. My middle son would happily spend three hours outside playing. I like the outdoors, but not that much. And my youngest boy would be in heaven with three hours of Power Rangers. I don’t think I need to explain that one. So what would I spend three hours doing? Take a look. 1…. Writing I did spend three hours or more today finishing up the novella I’m writing. When the muse flows, I’m not even aware of the time. And sometimes no matter how much time I spend, it’s not enough. 2…. Surfing the Net Yes, I’ve got it bad. When I’m looking for ways to procastinate I easily find a blog that keeps me entertained or the news. I may be overseas, but the US is only a mouse click away. 3…. Books Before I discoverd writing, you couldn’t find me without a book in my hand. I love to read and can easily put down one book and pick up another. Now that I’m almost finished with this novella, I expect to jump into my TBR pile and make a dent. Come back on Wednesdays in August to read reviews of what I’ve read. 4…. A leisurely meal Maybe it’s my Italian blood, but I love when we get together with family and friends and the wine pours and the tongues loosen. Meals like that are special. 5…. A Gab Fest with the Girls Mostly it’s getting together with my best friend Barb. We keep each other sane living in a foreign country. Three hours of chat flies by fast and it still feels like we didn’t cover everything we needed to say. 6…. The beach In summer, when we’re visiting the family in San Diego, I love hitting the beach. Put someone named Fabio who’ll cater to my every need and you can bet I’d be glued to that lounge chair from sunrise to sunset. 7…. Movies A good movie that makes me laugh and makes me forget the real world for three hours is worth every penny. 8…. Shopping Okay, I am into comfort, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to window shop and go in and out of the stores. Of course if it’s a book store, you’re on your own for the rest of the day. 9…. Sightseeing It’s been a while since I’ve been anywhere , but I love exploring new towns and taking in the sights. 10…. A Play When we lived in London we hit several London musicals. What a fabulous way to spend the evening with a meal before or just after. 11…. A museum I enjoy taking the boys to the museums. There are some wonderful exhibits throughout the year. It’s educational and entertaining. I always walk away having learned something. 12…. A spa This is more along the lines of how I wish I could spend three hours or more. Now if I could have Sven beside me–no sweating please–and a strawberry margarita, life would be golden. 13…. Trains, planes and automobiles Having lived in Europe and Japan, I love traveling by train, watching the scenery as it rolls by, looking at all the people on the station platforms and imagining where they’re all heading too. But, to get home I have to ride an airplane. It’s a nine plus hour flight on top of which I have a two and a half hour car ride from LAX to San Diego. It’s way more than three hours, but for the chance to see my family I’m more than willing to sacrifice the time. So for what things would you spend three hours? Do tell. P.S. Don’t forget to drop by next week when we start our August Puerto Rican themed TTs in honor of the release of our book in September! |

I cannot imagine spending three hours on my nails, either!

I think we spent nearly 3 hours at that Olive Garden with Angie & Joy! LOL
I like your list though. I’m with you on just about every activity. I *did* just spend way more than 3 hours getting my blog back up. It’s limping along now, so maybe we can do that blog swap in a few days.

I was thinking about what could I do for three hours without pause and I couldn’t figure out anything … but then I saw Sightseeing, definitively! Without any problem and Museums. Gosh when I was in Madrid fisrt day I’ve spent 8 hours in Museo del Prado, next day 6 in Reina Sofia, and next day 7 hours in El Museo de arte Thyssen-Bornemisza. Then In Bilbao 7 hours in Guggenheim… someone would think I missed the towns/country LOL
But I’m not … Oh I SO didn’t miss anything …
*sigh* I could go there again …

Easily I could spend 3 hours on the net – on blogs alone! Writing…I’d kill for three hours to write. Ideally, when I’m not tired.

Spa, ah! One of my favorite moments was by the pool at the Hollywood Roosevelt, sipping something boozey as I got a rose petal pedicure. This is living!

Surfing the net and blog hopping just makes the time fly – in a good way. Settling in for a movie or a live show is way, way up there. Gardening can put time on fast forward in a serious way while relaxing me very deeply. Wandering around window shopping is luxury at its finest. Great TT!
