Okay, I admit it, it’s no holiday here in Tokyo. I remember Labor Day as that last day before school starts. Back in NY we’d live up that last weekend, all the while getting psyched up for that first day with a new teacher and catching up on the news with all our friends.
Well, at least my kids started school on Monday. It was a blessed relief to have a few hours to myself. Unfortunately I had a PTA meeting that first day back too. I will be so glad when my PTA duties are over. This is year two and with three kids that means I’ve got one more year of obligation to fill. If Japan had to copy PTA from the US couldn’t they have copied the optional part of it too? LOL!
Other than that I have a huge stack of books I picked up in the US. I’m hoping to tackle the pile little by little. I then discovered that several books form authors I like have decided to come out in September. After my bookstore bills in the US, think hubby will notice a bill from Amazon slipped in? Hmmm….that’s what I thought too. Maybe I’ll wait one more month to give him more time to digest the numbers.
Some people are addicted to clothes; others to food; for me it’s books. It’s been like this since I was kid and I don’t think I’m going to change now.

I also was book addicted, but since I am blogging (for a year now) I only have time to read during holidays when I have no computer at my disposal. But as I have read so many books for the moment the blog stories seems to be more interesting to me ! It’s new !

I’ve been hooked on book since I was a kid. It’s all Trixie Belden’s fault.
Glad to hear your kids are back in school and things are getting back to normal.

My husband is the one who comes home with two bags filled with 40 paperbacks. (Used book store, thank heaven.) I love books – I even like the look of stacks of books, which is good, because that’s the most common design feature in our apartment.

I’m book addicted, too. My TBR pile is very deep and I should discipline myself not to buy another until I make a dent in it. Of course, I should do a lot of things …

While its wrong to be addicted to anything the only thing wrong with being addicted to books is the bills for the books:grin:Just think of this you could be addicted to a lot of worse things in this world.

I’ve got an Amazon gift certificate burning holes in my pocket,
and I want to get the most bang for my buck.
Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:
http://tinyurl.com/38sojf
This is where you’re going to find the “latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers” from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.
Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.
You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit – I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.
