Well, I’ve gotten the first round of edits in. They really weren’t too bad at all. In fact, the editor thanked me for turning in such a clean manuscript in the first place. I try.
No word on the release date. I’m bouncing in my chair in anticipation. When will it be?
Meanwhile, I’m trying to flesh out the story line of the second book in this trilogy: Tears of the Nile. Expect magic, dark secrets and a lot of passion.
Every part of a book is tough, but the beginning always seems particularly hard. I find that if I can’t get the beginning right, I can’t move forward. I end up revising it again and again until it clicks. Anyone else have that problem?
Hope all of you are having a nice weekend.

I hear ya about beginnings! With me it’s not just that first chapter, it’s the first line. If I’m not happy with it, I can’t write the story.

Thanks Christine and I will.
I do hear you Tempest. I can usually get past the first line but there’s a point whether it’s the first chapter or the third that if it’s not coming together, that’s it. I can’t move. It’s frustrating.

Gabriella, how could I forget someone who shares the same thing I do?
As for starting novels, I’m very good at that. It’s ending them that trips me up…

I have the same problem. I have to write sequentially. I’m also writing book two of a series. I’m finding that the challenge is trying to make sure it goes with the first book, but isn’t a cookie cutter of it.
