Have you made your resolutions for 2008? I’ll be posting mine in my Thursday Thirteen, so come back to see. And don’t forget to tell me what yours are!
Have a great New Years everyone and stay safe!
Forty more minutes to go to usher in Christmas Day. I’ve got loads of presents to wrap and get under the tree. Have to wait until the last munchkin is asleep. It’s getting harder now that they’re getting bigger.
I haven’t been as active on the blog. We had colds and the flu and just the general business that this season always brings. I imagine all of you know what I mean. I’m still trying to get Christmas cards out. Since I haven’t gotten too many yet, I figure everyone else is late too.
I’m going to take some time off to concentrate on the family and the house (MIL is coming for three days around New Years). Think of lots of scrubbing, dusting and straigtening. (Bleh!) Then again, if she didn’t come I probably wouldn’t do it.
Enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones and friends. May it be filled with love and laughter. And I wish you all a happy and healthy 2008!!!
Merry Christmas and see you in January!
My friend, author Gwen Hayes‘ first novella The Chosen released today. Woo Hoo, Gwen!!! I am so happy and excited for her. Take a look at this gorgeous cover:

And here’s the blurb:
Daniel “Morgue” Morgan hunts demons. And likes it—until the day Madigan Carter cuts through his life like a blade of sunshine. She is everything he isn’t, and for the first time in his life, he questions his calling when it means he will be forced to turn Madigan into a killer. Just like him.
Madigan doesn’t believe in demons, until the day she fends one off with her Louis Vuitton bag. She doesn’t want to be an Expeller, and she really doesn’t want to be trained by the most aggravating—and sexy—man she has ever met. When the Expeller instincts, and the unnatural hungers that go with them, threaten to overwhelm her humanity, will her connection to her mentor be enough save both their souls?
So, if you’re looking for something to to keep you warm and satisfied on one of these cold winter nights, go pick yourself up a copy and enjoy!
I’ve gotten behind–Behind on Christmas cards, behind on decorations, behind on cleaning and behind on the blog. :-d
Influenza is going around and I have kids with colds. My oldest stayed home and I’m debating whether to send him to school tomorrow. Ds#2 said four kids were absent from his third grade class and three went home early with temperatures. One is confirmed with the flu. If many of the others are flu cases, they’ll probably send all the kids home. Ds#1 is showing signs of a fever. Crossing my fingers that it doesn’t worsen by morning.
I’m feeling guilty for not getting those Christmas cards in the mail. Every one expects a picture to be included. Ever try getting three boys to smile and stand still at the same time? I’d probaby have better luck with a gaggle of geese. I thought I had managed to get one decent shot and when I saw it at the photo shop, there’s blueberry jam smeared on the side of ds#2’s face. That child never stops eating. So no photo, no cards.
I’m not sure why I can’t get into the whole Christmas thing this year. It’s usually my favorite time of year. I love the season, the festivities, the warmth of family and friendships. This year it seems to be hurtling toward me and I want to scream, “Stop! I’m not ready yet.” LOL! Anybody else having that problem?
Funky Word Press won’t let me use apostraphes and such in my titles. Probably because I’m using a Japanese keyboard. Who knows? Anyway, it’s finally hitting me that we are in December and I am so not ready for anything.
Next week is ds#1’s birthday. Dh picked up the gift, but beyond that I haven’t made any plans as to how or when we will celebrate. I have about 50 cards that need to be written and sent if they’re going to make it to the US by Christmas. And I have to take the kids yearly photo. One of my mom’s friends emailed to remind me to send her the photo. What is she doing on email at her age?
The day after tomorrow I have a big class event for the first graders that I organized (‘cuz I had to). I figured 10 or fifteen moms might come. There are over thirty adults, close to the entire class has a parent attending. It’s because I planned to do cake. Everybody wants cake. Frankly, I can’t think beyond Thursday. Please, let me survive Thursday. LOL!
Seriously, I need to get organized. Anyone else feeling a bit panicky as the holiday season approaches? Well, you’re not alone.
Cheers!
