Thirteen Resolutions for 2008

Happy New Year and Happy Thursday Thirteen!

I had to use this image again because I’m still feeling all bubbly and I want that feeling to carry over through the year. I’ve got lots of plans and I’m thinking BIG! I came up with a set of New Year’s Resolutions that I’m going to do my best to stick to because I want this year to be even better than 2007 (and 2007 was pretty good to me.)

Personal Resolutions

1…. Balance my time (family, work and leisure)
2…. Get organized (I am always disorganized. That gene skipped me.)
3…. Lose those last 5 pounds (or is it a multiple of five? ;-) )
4…. Make new friends
5…. Keep old friends (I need to do a better job staying in touch)
6…. Live harmoniously

Writing Resolutions
7…. Finish Tears of the Nile
8…. Write and finish Blood of the Nile
9…. Get my next ICE project going and aim for a spring submission
10…. Revise first three chapters and plot out the rest of my paranormal novel
11…. Stick to a writing schedule as much as possible (this is a tough one)
12…. Save money for RWA Nationals in San Francisco this year!
13….Promote! Promote! Promote!

I don’t have the greatest track record on resolutions, but I’m going to give these my best shot. At the very least, when Dec. 31, 3008 rolls around, I want to be able to look back and feel good about what I accomplished and know that even if I didn’t meet every goal that I gave them all my very best effort.

So how about you? What are your resolutions?

You have a point Gattina but I think it depends on the kinds of resolutions you make and how badly you want them. Wish me luck anyways.

I love how many of our writerly goals are similar, no matter the person–write more, be gentler on ourselves, find an hour here and there for personal stuff, maybe fit in a little exercise. Good luck with yours!

I did my goals on New Year’s Day, but Unusual Historicals has a 13 up about gay slang :)

Interesting list. I don’t make resolutions, so I don’t feel bad when I don’t keep them!

I like the 5 lb. idea. You can’t lose the second five until you lose the first, right? Happy New Year!
