Blog Shout Out!

Was surfing the web again and washed up on the shores of this romance writer.

I have been there a few times to read some of her interviews with some other authors. Always fascinating stuff.

This week I am giving a shout out to Lori Devoti!

Feeling Groovy

Today I have to tell you I got an awesome review. No, it was not the conventional reviews of the stuffy New York Times or from the romance mecca publication Romantic Times. It was from a fellow blogger and I have to tell you it made me feel so special.

It is nice to actually have a reader talk about your book. To really get into the story and not talk about the mechanics but of the way the story made them feel. It made me smile and I was walkng on the ceiling.

I realized it is nice to get stars and cups and ribbons or whatever other graphic review sites use to judge the caliber of the story but above all else I value honest feedback more.

Check out this blog and tell me you wouldn’t be feeling groove too.

Gothic Lovers Get Your Free Read with BLOOD TIES

Love a good gothic romantic suspense? Well, I do, which might be why the first novel I wrote, BLOOD TIES, was a contemporary gothic romantic suspense story set against the vineyards of Long Island.

Here’s a blurb:
Janina Rozalia Kubiak infiltrates the San Marco estate determined to prove her father innocent of the crime he’s been accused. Whispers of the San Marco heir’s madness, the ghost of his fiancée and disturbing incidents haunt her every move. As she searches for the truth she finds herself falling for Dominic San Marco, the reclusive owner. But can Dominic ever forgive her for the lies she’s told or is it already too late?

Dominic San Marco lost his family and career when his home went up in flames. With scars on the inside and out, he takes refuge on the vineyard his family has owned for generations. Only the winery is on the verge of bankruptcy and someone is determined to see it fail. He hires Jan Rose to help him save it, but the lovely new accountant has secrets. He wants to believe the promises he sees in her eyes. But he’s been burned one too many times and this time he may not survive.

Once you’ve read the story, vote for the book and you can leave a comment, too. I hope you enjoy it and I’d love to hear what you think.

Newsletter fiasco

I sent out my July newsletter highlighting all the going ons for this month.

I tried a new tactic this time. The format layout was great. I had the video embedded in it. A cute sidebar with all the info for the book. Great graphics and even a contest run by a radio station.

Couldn’t be more perfect. Or so I thought.

Well anyway, it seems Hotmail took issue with me sending out a billion emails. They closed my hotmail account!

I’m like what the f*%$!

Seriously, give me a break. I had to freakin’ do that stupid letter crap to verify I am human being each time I sent out an email, so I think it wouldn’t be considered SPAM. Which by the way is very difficult with someone with LD Dyslexia. I have written to several companies stating this practice is unfair but I am in the minority so BOO HOO to me. So, I deal with it but Blogger is the worst with this letter protection garbage. And now hotmail and yahoo have jumped on this bandwagon. Well with due dilligence I do the stupid SPAM protector. Guess it isn’t good enough.

Well, I guess someone took issue with getting a newsletter and contacted Hotmail about me SPAMMING them. Seriously, folks. Give me a break!

I must get tons of newsletters from authors everyday. I never hit the SPAM button on them. I either email back to be removed from the list or delete it. What is the big deal?

It is not like I am asking for hot sex or trying to sell them used spare car parts or fake raffles to an International lotto.

Anyway, needless to say, all my contacts that I have worked very hard to get and all my other info from my pubs has gone into cyberspace.
So to anyone trying to contact me. I apologize if you are getting a bizarre message back saying that Gabriella Hewitt @ hotmail . com no longer exists.

I guess this is a lesson for me. Next time I will take the time to put up the little blurb about asking to be removed from the mailing list. Usually I do this and only once has anyone from the list I have been using for the past year contacted me back to be removed and it was to tell me to update their new account info.

Guess the world has become too PC for me. This won’t detter me. Not the least. I will get my hotmail account back up and running and start all over again soliciting emails from friends and family.

Again, I apologize to anyone contacting me. In the meantime, you can email me at Sasha Tomaszycki @ hotmail. com if you need to contact me.

Review of Ghost Moon by Rebecca York

Okay, It is summer and this is the only time I get to read all the book that have piled up on my TBR heap. One at a time I plow through the books and sit back and enjoy a book.

Ghost Moon by Rebecca York

I have to tell you this writer has failed to ever write a bad book. Seriously, everything she writes thouroughly entertains me.
Ghost Moon is no exception. It is a book that brings back a cast of some beloved characters and keeps true to form.

I have to admit this was a bit more complicated of a storyline in that it had a ghost, a visitor from another astral plane, werewolves, bad blood among cousins, a rebel leader in another world, a crazy maniac militant bent on blowing up D.C., a dead man, and lots of sexy situations.

Quinn is a woman from another world parrallel to our universe who opens a veil between our world and hers to bring a rebel leader’s wife to safety. She teams up with Rinna and Logan (New Moon) who will help her learn about modern day Earth so she can better protect the pregnant wife of the rebel leader, Griffin, from her home world that is under attack. In the process, she stumbles across Caleb Marshall, who is the ghost of a werewolf who was murdered by his cousin 75 years ago. Quinn has psychic powers that allows her to form a bond and communicate with the sexy ghost. He is totally alpha and makes his attraction to her known right from the start. (Seriously, so sensual I thought the pages would burn up.) She falls for him but is torn between loving him because he is a ghost and the fact he is hell bent on revenge against the very people who are helping her to protect her leader’s wife.

Just when Quinn believes their chance at a relationship is hopeless along come two men sent by a militant leader to bury a body in the forest.
Caleb takes over the man’s life and he is able to make love to Quinn, as well as, finally be able to exact revenge on the Marshall Clan. Quinn must decide between her love of Caleb and her loyalty to the Marshalls. Which will she choose?

Every twist and turn that the book takes is well thought out. Romantic, sexy and action-packed Rebecca York again has found the way to blend romantic suspense, paranormal, science-fiction into a mesmorizing story. Clever writing that pulls together in a satisfying ending.

This was an exciting read that I devoured in two days. I have read every single book in the Moon series and by far Killing Moon has always been my favorite but now I have to add Ghost Moon too.

I can’t wait for the next installment. Eternal Moon also will feature a character introduced in Ghost Moon. Jacob’s story from the excerpt at the end of the book looks to be another sure-fire winner.
