Woke up this morning and couldn’t find the top to my coffee grinder. You don’t realize how desperate you can get for a cup of coffee in the morning until you can’t make one! Searched the whole kitchen looking for the thing. Yesterday, I cleaned out a few kitchen cabinets, getting rid of stuff and trying to organize things. I really hope I didn’t accidentally throw out the top.

So there I was desperate for a cup with only coffee beans in the house. It was enough to make a grown woman cry.

I did mention desperate, right? Let me clue you in on something, no matter how desperate you are, don’t grind beans without the top of the coffee grinder. Oh yeah, that is directly from experience and I’m still plucking bits of coffee beans from my hair.

So that was a FAIL. But desperate times call for desperate measures (and there’s that word again). I put plastic wrap over the top and poked through the wrap with a toothpick to touch the tiny pin hole that makes the grinder grind. It worked!

So with a hot cup of java in hand, I am now reasonably human and can get down to the serious work of writing!
