Sucker Punch or just plain Sucks?

Well, I have to admit this movie sounds like a cool concept but I am not fully sold. I love the bad girl defend the imaginary world idea behind it but I am not so sure about the assortment of characters. This movie to me is a cross between steampunk and anime brought to life in an Oliver Twist kind of storyline.

The fact that Vanessa Hudgins is in it and she is not a good girl is killing me. Sorry but she still is High School Musical to me. Also, the fact she plays a character named Blondie, yeah, … Read More »

Market News

I am always fascinated to hear what people on the inside of the industry know.

Check out this interview with Marlene Stringer of the Strigner Agency. She says paranormal is more competitive, YA is super hot and wonders if historical romance might be the next wave. Is it?

Wicked Wednesday – Javier Bardem

There is something about this actor I find sexy. It also could be that he and actress Penelope Cruz welcomed their first child together. There is something about being a dad that makes a man even more sexy.

Me thinks, this will be an uber cute baby if looking at the dad is any indication…

Jaguar Dreams

Hard at work on the third installment for the Shadow Warriors series. In the first book the warrior is a wolf. The second warrior is an eagle. I wanted a warrior who was sensual, fierce, dangerous and dark. Naturally, I picked the jagaur.

Jaguars are from Latin America and were coveted by the Aztecs, considered fierce creatures with mystical powers. Hence, a perfect choice when naming thier fiercest warriors, jaguar warriors. They are recognized for thier golden fur with black spots. They are mysterious cats and generally nocturnal. They have unique skills that make them great hunters and runners. They … Read More »

Wicked Wednesday

I am going old school and picking the Aztec Warrior as today’s Wicked Wednesday man.

There is something classical & very primal about a man that can rock a loin cloth, feathers and animal skin.

That right, I said it! I like a man in fur. Jaguar fur, that is

Look at these pictures and try and deny that dark and fierce doesn’t turn you on.

Thank you to everyone that entered the What’s In a Name? contest. There were some great choices and I had a hard time picking between some of them because there were some really great entries. I loved reading the meanings behind the names. In the end I could only pick one.

And the winner is…

Elizabeth Hahn Matis!

The name of the heroine in the 4th novella of the Shadow Warrior’s is Enya.

I loved this name because Elizabeth said it meant “Fire in Celtic.” Since these are contmeporary novellas that have Aztec mythology woven into the story, I was … Read More »

Hatsu-hi no de (The First Sunrise)

In Japan, many people get up early on January 1st to watch the first sunrise of the year. A very special gentleman, who lives down the road from me, sent me this picture he took from his balcony. It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? The vapor trail you see is the flight path of an airplane.

Happy New Year everyone. May you start each day of 2011 with promise.
