Wicked Wednesday – Shia Lebouf

Shia LeBouf may not come to mind as the sexiest man alive but there is something about his soulful hazel green eyes that makes me find him super adorable.

And you can’t fault his acting skill either. Even as a little kid digging up a world of trouble in Holes, you could see there was something there.

Shia jumped back on the scene with Transformers and alongside his sexy co-star Megan Fox, he was able to hold his own (rumor is too they had a little fling — so jealous right now but I can’t hate on her. He is … Read More »

Soul-Mates

Do you believe in soul-mates? If so, is there only one man or woman for you? What if you don’t meet that person in your lifetime–are you destined to live this life alone? Or, do you believe there is more than one person that can be your life mate?

These are questions that have always intrigued me. I have had different views about them over my life, and these views have definitely been affected by the fact I am a very analytical person. (Before becoming an author, I was a computer programmer/analyst.)

When I was a fledgling writer many … Read More »

When Authors Fail Reader Expectations

I read an interview with author Jayne Ann Krentz in which she talked about the ups and downs of her writing career. Krentz writes under three names for three different genres: Amanda Quick for her Regency/Victorian novels; Jayne Ann Krentz for her contemporaries; Jayne Castle for her futuristics. I was a fan of her Amanda Quick stories and every time a new book came out, I bought it. In her interview she talked about how–and I’m paraphrasing here–she sabotaged her own career. She created a Victorian series that didn’t follow the formula she had set up with all her previous … Read More »

Wicked Wednesday — Chris Evans

I love backstory. And The Avengers: Captain America is one flashback I am dying to see, especially since it will feeature hot, hunky, Chris Evans.

You probably know Chris best as the too hot to handle, Human Torch from Fantastic Four.

He has played many other characters but I pretty much like looking at him. Don’t you agree?

But I do beleive people will definitly be talking about his tranforming role in Captain America.

The Birth of a Legacy

“Where do your ideas come from?” I get this question so often I’ve come up with several legitimate answers, all of which translate to, “I wish I knew. They just sort of happen.” I know it sounds trite, but it’s sincerely true. My debut urban fantasy, Legacy, is a prime example.

I finished re-reading my favorite urban fantasy series not too long ago, and the last book left me a little destitute. I wanted more of the characters’ story. I sat down with my computer to browse the web, ghosting through some of my favorite … Read More »

Blondes, Brunettes, Redheads…Who Really Gets Her Man?

I’ve picked up books in a trilogy where one heroine is a blonde, the next is a brunette and the last is a redhead. I call it the Charlie’s Angels’ effect. We have the sweet angel, the smart angel and the sexy angel. I’m not sure the same goes for hair color but there seems to be this need to cover all bases.

In stories, these women are all natural. In life, let’s face it, people turn to the bottle to get the hair color they want. It’s not always easy guessing who’s a real blonde and who isn’t.

Hair … Read More »

Wicked Wednesday – Owen Wilson

This tall, long, Texan with his boyish good looks, distinct nose, charming smile and silky blonde hair makes me laugh and my heart beat faster.

He is the youngest brother of the Wilson clan. Why does looking at this picture make me think of the word: menage?

The ultimate hotty in Zoolander, Owen played the too-hot-for-you-model, Hansel.

I loved the way he filled out a tuxedo in Wedding Crashers. Damn, now why couldn’t he crash the boring weddings I was subjected to? (SIGH)

It is as if the gods were on my side because all this month of June it … Read More »

The Do’s and Don’ts of Caring for Gnomes

My upcoming release is a cyberpunk romance, so why am I writing about gnomes you ask? Meet Bernard, a fantastically funny and obnoxious sidekick to my technomage hero, Ian Bradley. He can be helpful or he can be a pain in the butt. Here are a few tips Ian’s learned.

• DO keep the house full of good fruits and vegetables since gnomes tend to be herbivores. Side note: make sure you don’t forget to bring him his favorite
sweets too. Yes, they can have a sweet tooth.

• DON’T keep alcohol … Read More »

An Eclectic Bag for Your Entertainment

Well, mis queridas, it’s another Fancy Friday and I thought I’d put together a mix of links and quirky stuff that have come my way.

Science
Any science geeks out there? Science was never my forte in high school. I enjoyed biology (minus the dissection), got into water tables in earth science, don’t remember much of chemistry and avoided physics by taking an AP Bio my senior year. I even took another year of Bio in college to fulfill my requirements. Some sciences are simply hard to understand if you’re not wired to get them. But, when someone explains … Read More »

Wicked Wednesday – Michael Fassbender

Haven’t heard of him yet? You will. Michael Fassbender is a master of transformation. A true actor that can easily slip into roles and not overwhelm a movie with his presence but with his character.

He’s played alongside great actors in some very notable movies.

Here he is in 300. (This movie was action packed full of fine men in capes and abs.)

Inglorious Bastards playing a dashing bastard.

Running half naked and for his life in the Roman chase film, The Centurian.

A total hottie..he played Azazeal working for the man downstairs in Jonah Hex.

And as the handsome … Read More »
