Gearing up for the Holidays

There is so much to do. Thanksgiving over and the last of the turkey finished off. All leftovers thrown out of the fridge. Yup, after a few days, mashed potatoes taste like glue and the ham begins to stink up the fridge.

Spent the long weekend hanging decorations, putting out a huge Santa on my front lawn. Fixing the tree and getting the necessary chocolate candy, my favorite is Advent chocolates, eating one a day for 27 days! And not to forget, the geld. My neighbor in NY used to give this every Hanukkah to my kids and now I find it has become part of our traditions. So I bought them a bag each:)

No December is complete without hordes of cookies and cakes littering the counter tops. I bought the cookie dough and a delicious fruit cake, a tradition at my house. My aunt used to make the most yummy Trinidadian rum cake version and send it to us every year with some Poncha De Crema. Have to get that recipe from her. Definitely will share it. A must have on cold nights.

I guarantee once you taste the most lush fruity rummy goodness you will love fruit cake again.

Now that the house is all pretty and sparkly with Christmas music pumping, I can get down to business. Finishing up Charmed Ever After. Doing last minute edits and praying that my foray into fantasy & romantic comedy is well received.

Well, off I go to munch on some chocolate and eggnog and finish up Charmed Ever After.

In the meantime, why don’t you check out some free recipes. HOT IN THE KITCHEN is available for download today!
