Apologies to my readership

If you tried to check in this last day or so, you were likely to get an error message. I am sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. There was a line of bad code in one of my posts that threw the whole website out of whack. Live and learn. I’m just so grateful that Blue Host, my web server, got on it as soon as I contacted them.

If you haven’t had a chance, please don’t leave before checking out my review below of Kisri and the Beast by Moira Rogers.

And for some added fun, what moon were you … Read More »

Meet An Author Monday – Toni Plummer

There’s Something About Mary

Let’s talk covers. I love my cover. I love the colors, I love the rose. On the right side, you can even make out a faint architectural drawing, which speaks to the vocation of titular character Andi Rowe. I’ve had so many compliments. This must be what it feels like when someone praises your baby. Or, close enough. A gorgeous cover!

But the truth is I didn’t always love my cover. My first reaction was quite different.

To give you some back story, I originally had my own vision of what should be on the cover. … Read More »

I’ve Got An Agent!

I almost feel guilty about this. I mean I’m not someone who’s been searching for an agent for ages. In fact I’ve never really queried one and as of a few weeks ago, I planned to continue as I had: submitting my stories and waiting for that acceptance or rejection.

So what changed? About two weeks ago, I took a look at what I had accomplished so far this year. I sold Out of the Shadows in January to Samhain Publishing. I finished up Shadow Visions the second novella in the series and sent that in to my editor and … Read More »

Meet An Author Monday – Robynne Lea

Social Media for Writers

TV, radio, and print are out of style, and getting your name out there as a writer is essential to success. As an internet marketing specialist, even I have a lot to learn about using blogs, SEO, and social media to get name recognition for a particular business or person. Still, starting with the basics can take you pretty far.

First, all writers should have a Facebook, a Twitter, and a Facebook Fan Page. The more social media you have, the more times your name will appear on the search engines. Now, one thing that comes … Read More »

Meet an Author Monday – Christine d’Abo

Thank you for having me on the blog today!

I’ve been fascinated with science fiction since I was a little kid. It wasn’t so much about the aliens and adventures (though that played a big part in it), but the characters themselves. I would watch shows like Battlestar Galactica (yes…the original), Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, and grow attached to the men and women struggling to survive in these hostile, unexpected environments.

As I got older and I expanded my reading to encompass romance, I couldn’t help but wish there were more books that combined the two. I loved … Read More »

Homegirl TV Live today

A message to all members of HomeGirl.TV from Sofia Quitero —

Hey, HomeGirls!

As promised the next webisode is now available just about everywhere – YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, and, of course, HOMEGIRL.TV. But only our members will be able to see the bonus footage I’m going to upload featuring HomeGirl Marcela Landres in which she offers a unique idea for handling a relative who has borrowed money from you, gone on a shopping spree and has left you struggling to pay the bills. I think it’s genius and would love to see if you agree.

Meanwhile, we at HOMEGIRL.TV are … Read More »

Meet An Author Monday – Darcy Abriel

The Erotic Imagination of a Twisted Fantasy Writer

I had an idea. How many times do you hear that from an author? And that’s how Silver was created. I didn’t know the characters when I started writing the first scene that popped into my head. I was free writing and didn’t worry about genres, or correctness, or anything but the characters playing out the scene. I saw an intriguing figure – part man, part woman, but…there was more. Another day passed, and another scene popped into my head. I saw the man who “owned” her. And at first I thought … Read More »

Meet an Author Monday coming soon…

March Madness was so much fun. I am so pleased and elated to have had such an ecclectic group of amazing people stop by and join in the fun. Also, a big shout out to all the people that stopped by and left comments and even to the lurkers that dropped by to catch a peek.

I would like to announce that starting next week, in April we are going to be having some more cool people visiting each Monday.

So far, we have the lovely Darcy Abriel stopping by to talk about her new series Humanotica and her first … Read More »

MARCH MADNESS – Clarissa Yip

March Madness? Basketball? Hmmm….

Okay, I admit it. I’m not a basketball fan. I have no idea about the sport except I remember in gym class, there are only 12 people allowed on the court and they dribble the ball up and down the court to dunk it in the hoop-thingy. I remember being penalized for carrying the ball like a football and trying to run off with it. Does that tell you enough?

I’m not a big sports fan. But I did play boy’s lacrosse when I was in middle school. That was interesting, especially since I wasn’t allowed … Read More »
